New to CrashGuard?
CrashGuard guards your payment against scammers and covers cancellations for illness and emergencies. Read about the CrashGuard Benefit.
CrashWith helps convention, festival, and concert attendees share hotel and lodging rooms safely. Instead of arranging room shares through group chats and payment apps, you find roommates, message them, and send or pay for your share through CrashWith, with verification and refund protection built in.
A Crash Pad is a confirmed reservation with spaces to fill: the Room Captain already has the room and lists each open space with a price. A Crash Pool is for finding co-travelers to book a room together when nobody has a reservation yet. A Crash Beacon is for guests: it broadcasts that you need a space, along with your party size and budget, so Room Captains can find and invite you.
The Room Captain holds the reservation (or is organizing a joint booking) and fills the open spaces. A Room Guest is an attendee joining that Room Captain's room.
Open the event's page from the Events menu to see its Crash Pads and Crash Pools, then use Request to Join on a listing that fits. If nothing fits yet, post a Crash Beacon so Room Captains can invite you.
Yes. Submit the event from the Events page. Our staff review submitted events before they are treated as vetted.
No. You can join at most one listing per event. Owning a Crash Beacon does not stop you from requesting to join a Crash Pad or Crash Pool; once you are accepted, your Beacon for that event is closed automatically.
Room Captains can submit proof of their reservation for a one-time verification fee. Our staff review it, and a verified Crash Pad shows a verification badge so guests know a real reservation backs it. Your card is authorized when you submit and only charged once staff confirm the reservation. Crash Pools and Crash Beacons do not need verification.
Use the request-verification option on the listing to ask the Room Captain to verify it. A Room Captain must also verify a listing before they can send you an invoice through CrashWith.
Use the Report button on the listing, the member's profile, or the conversation. Reports go straight to our staff. You need a confirmed email address to file a report.
CrashWith screens messages for common scam patterns, such as requests to pay outside the platform. A warning means a message matched one of those patterns. It is not proof of a scam, but be careful and keep payments on CrashWith, where they are protected.
Your Room Captain sends you an invoice, usually in your conversation with them. Open it and pay by card through Stripe. Paying through a CrashWith invoice is what makes your payment eligible for CrashGuard.
Set up Guest Payments to connect a payout account through Stripe; it takes about five minutes. After that you can send invoices to the guests in your room, and their payments are paid out to you on Stripe's standard payout schedule. CrashWith never holds room share payments.
Room Captains enter the payout they want for each space, and CrashWith adds a platform fee of 10% of that payout on top to make the price guests see. Guests who pay without logging in pay an extra 2% fee, which is waived if they pay while logged in. Room Captains pay a one-time fee to verify a Crash Pad. Any CrashGuard level a guest chooses at checkout is added to their total.
You can, but payments made outside CrashWith carry none of its protection: no identity-proven Room Captain, no verified listing, and no CrashGuard refund if something goes wrong.
CrashGuard is built into every payment made through a CrashWith invoice and does two things. It is a fraud guard: Room Captains must prove their identity and verify their listing before they can invoice you, and if a Room Captain fails to provide your space, you are refunded in full. It is also a flexible cancellation policy: if you get sick, have a family emergency, or face another genuine reason you can't attend, you can get back part or all of your payment, depending on the level you chose at checkout.
You choose a cancellation level when you pay. None costs nothing and covers no cancellation. Standard adds 10% and returns up to 40% of your subtotal if you can't attend. Full adds 25% and returns up to 100%. At every level, including None, you are refunded in full if the Room Captain fails to provide your space.
Email support@crashwith.com saying you are requesting a refund under CrashGuard, with the Room Captain's name, the guest's name, and the reason you are cancelling. Your refund depends on the CrashGuard level you chose when you paid, and it goes back to your original payment method.
No. CrashGuard refunds are paid by CrashWith, and the Room Captain keeps the payout they already received.
Listings are archived automatically three days after their check-out date, or after the event ends if the listing has no check-out date. An invoice that is still pending stays payable after the event.
